Candy!

Nothing like some brightly colored candy to cheer us all up after a morning of dreadful, global homophobia. From Wikipedia:

"The earliest known appearance of the modern jelly bean was during the American Civil War when William Schrafft of Boston promoted sending the candy to soldiers in the Union Army."

I've always been a fan of seasonally available pectin eggs, which I can only find around Easter. They have a more delicate flavor than regular jelly beans and their hard, candy coating often has a beautiful, speckled coloring.

Gaze at the beans and feel your troubles melt away.
